Environment

GREE Electric Appliances Inc, a manufacturer continuously driven by the responsibility against the global market, plans the manufacturing process and products design basing on a philosophy for constant environmental sustainability. This operation relies on four basic pillars:

1) Production line conditions that respect the environment.

Gree manufacturing plants, being models of production line on a global level, are organized on the principle of resource sustainability. Gree strives for maximum possible energy-saving and use of recycled material in the production process as well as product packaging. Excess material coming from this process is recycled for further use.

2) Investment in new, environment friendly technology.

GREE Electric Appliances Inc continuously invests in new technology, which is friendlier to the environment. The focus is for products that continuously achieve increased energy efficiency and a smaller ecological footprint. Gree R&D employs more than 3.300 scientists having patented more than 3.000 technologies, in more than 300 labs and control rooms.

3) Products friendly to the environment

Further to the extensive use of eco friendly R410a refrigerant type with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) in the majority of the product line, Gree strives in the development of products utilizing sustainable energy sources, or reduce the requirement in electricity consumption through relevant technologies.

In this direction Gree launched Versati DC Inverter Heat pumps during 2011, an important chapter in sustainable energy source heating in the household sector, since heat pumps absorb most of the energy produced in the heating process from the environment, therefore considered a renewable energy source product.

Moreover, during October 2011, Gree pioneered in the introduction of the Solar – Hybrid DC Inverter air conditioner, the first manufacturer to have launched such a product in the field. This model can utilize PV energy in parallel with network electricity, so that depending on the installation parameters, such as battery and solar activity, it can work with PV energy by 100%.

Finally during 2012 Gree introduces Hansol Super DC Inverter series, a new range aof household wall mounted DC Inverter series that can catch an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of as high as 5,2, rated as A+++, incorporating the new Gree originating G10 compressor driving technology.

4) International quality certificates

GREE Electric Appliances Inc continuously invests in systematic quality control, assurance and documentation. At the same time Gree is also a qualified testing laboratory for International standards of quality. Gree products have been awarded with CE, TUV, GS, UL, SASO, OHSAS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EUROVENT quality and environment standards such as IECQ, ROHS etc.
